Patty Jackson: The 4-1-1

4-1-1- Lauryn Hill off to jail; Kobe vs. Mom; R.I.P. Mrs. Chancellor

You can follow me on Twitter @mspattyjackson, and check me out on Facebook at Patty Jackson-WDASFM.

Lauryn Hill is going to jail for failing to pay her taxes. Hill finally did pay up, but a judge decided to send a message to Hill and other people who play with the I.R.S. Hill, 37, is the mother of six kids. She is going to serve three months in prison and three months under
house arrest for failing to pay taxes in a timely manner on a million dollars of earnings. Hill says she dropped out of the public eye to protect her family. She recently signed a new music deal with Sony Records. Even though that deal helped her pay back the money, the judge gave her jail time anyway. Hill joins a list of other celebrities who had to go to jail for failing to pay taxes including Ron Isley and Wesley Snipes.

Jada Pinkett Smith is producing and starring in Salsa. Pinkett-Smith plays a woman at a turning point whose life comes together after she begins her dance lessons. Look for major changes to next season's American Idol. The ratings have seen a 22 percent drop from last year. Changes could include new judges, getting rid of theme shows and hiring new producers for the show. Mariah Carey turned out to be an $18 million bore, and Nicki Minaj is a turnoff with her obnoxious behavior because despite her tough critiques audiences don’t like her personality. Randy Jackson is past his prime, and Keith Urban is too nice.

There is a shocking new Michael Jackson claim. Choreographer Wade Robson says that as a minor, he was molested by The King Of Pop. Robson, 30, is suing the Michael Jackson estate for damages. From the age of 5 until 14, Robson spent time with Jackson. In 2005, Robson testified he was never molested by Jackson, so why is he changing his story now? Is he looking for money? Lawyers for the Jackson estate call Robson's claim outrageous and pathetic. With the Michael Jackson wrongful death civil trial underway, mom Katherine Jackson, who is taking on concert promoters AEG Live in the suit, has been under a
lot of pressure: Michael's kids are rebelling, like refusing to participate in Jehovah Witness activities. Paris has been spending lot of time with her biological mom Debbie Rowe. And, British Actor Mark Lester, who was a child star in Oliver, is claiming he is the biological father of Michael's kids. Lester says he donated his sperm.

Cooper returned to hospital care after being released when her health showed signs of improvement. She originated the role of “Katherine Chancellor” in 1974 for The Young & The Restless, which was only months after the soap premiered. Cooper was nominated for awards dozens of times, and she took the Best Actress Daytime Emmy in 2008. She also played TV mom to her real son Corbin Bernsen on his hit 80's drama L.A. Law. Cooper did enjoy a film career that included co-starring with Frank Sinatra (Tony Rome) and Tony Curtis (The Boston Strangler). Jeanne Cooper was 84.

Kobe Bryant is in a battle with his mother over his high school memorabilia. Pamela Bryant is in the process of selling his sports awards, high school trophies, Jerseys and two Lakers' championship rings, among other memorabilia. In all, there are 42 items. Kobe's mom Pamela says her son told her to keep the items because he doesn’t want them. Pamela is planning to use the money to buy a home in Nevada. Kobe has taken legal action to stop his mom from selling his items. Sources say Kobe's mom is mad because Kobe just brought his mother-in-law a new multimillion dollar mansion, and Pamela feels Kobe should be doing more for his family.
