Terrence Howard’s private life may soon start to overshadow his career.
Howard’s ex-wife Michelle Ghent showed up in court sporting a big black eye. Ghent claims Howard attacked her last week during a family outing in Costa Rica. Howard and Ghent divorced last year. Their stormy two-year marriage was filled with violence and problems. Howard claims Ghent threatened to kill him and his family last week. He has cited her past behavior, including a suicide attempt two months ago and a stint in a psych ward. Ghent has a restraining order against Howard, and he is not allowed to have any contact with her. Howard must also stay 100 feet way from Ghent. Accusations of violent behavior could hurt Howard’s career, which has several high profile projects over the next couple months. Howard is co-starring in the new Lee Daniels’ movie The Butler, followed by the Winnie Mandela movie with Jennifer Hudson, which opens in theatres September 6
th, and he has The Best Man Holiday in November. “Holiday” is the sequel to the movie that made Howard a star, The Best Man. He has a possible TV show in the works with FOX. Friends of the actor want him to stay away from his ex-wife because this could damage his career and his family.

Get well to Singer D’Angelo. He’s cancelled a series of concerts due to a mysterious medical illness. This is a major setback in his long-awaited comeback.

Usher may lose custody of his two children by his ex-wife Tameka Foster. In
their bitter divorce, Usher won primary custody of his two sons. After an incident at his home that almost killed five-year old Usher V, Foster is fighting back. Usher’s five-year old son almost drowned in a family pool. When the boy dove into the water to get a toy, his arm was caught in a drainage pipe. He was being watched by an aunt, who got help to pull little Usher from the pool. Foster is seeking an emergency order to get her kids away from Usher. She feels they are not safe under his care. It was just last year that Foster lost a child due to a water accident. Foster’s 11-year son Kile
Glover died in a jet ski accident in 2012.

Cissy Houston wants to make amends with her granddaughter Bobbi Kris.
Houston recently wrote Bobbi Kris an open public letter stating her love for her, but how Houston wishes Bobbi Kris would not go ahead with plans to marry her play brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon. So far Bobbi Kris has not responded because she’s still very angry with Cissy for writing a book about Bobbi Kris’ mother Whitney Houston.
The book detailed a lot of dirt in Whitney’s life. Meanwhile, Bobbi Kris may be headed back to reality TV in the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother.

Soon to be daddy Simon Cowell is hoping his babydaddy scandal with a
married lady will not hurt the ratings for the upcoming season of The X-Factor. Cowell got his best friend’s wife pregnant, and now the lady is divorcing her husband. We remember the legendary Musician George Duke. As a keyboardist/songwriter/producer/vocalist, Duke's resume ran through the most influential musical genres of our time. He began as a keyboardist in a band that included Al Jarreau backing up Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gordon. Later, he cut albums considered on the forefront of jazz/funk. Duke became an innovative pop/R&B
producer for Jeffrey Osborne (We’re Going All The Way, On The Wings Of Love), Deniece Williams (Black Butterfly, Let's Hear It For The Boy), Rachelle Ferrell (Til’ You Come Back To Me, Welcome To My Love, With Open Arms), Gladys Knight and Smokey Robinson, and Duke cut hits himself (Dukey Stick, Reach For It, No Rhyme, No Reason and Sweet Baby w/Stanley Clarke). Duke was the music director for the
Soul Train TV series and awards shows. Duke's last album, Dreamweaver, was released last month and was dedicated to his late wife Corine, who passed of cancer last year. George Duke was 67 and died from leukemia.

Looks like another comedienne is also returning to BET. Oscar Winner
Mo’Nique is returning to the network she hosted a late night talk show that from 2009-2011. The show then suddenly went off the air. I hear the new show will be a daily entertainment show that is being produced by the Oscar winner and her husband Sidney Hicks. It was allegedly Sidney and Mo’s behavior that caused the falling out with BET the first time.

By the way, Oprah is excellent in Lee Daniels' The Butler, so she is making the promotions rounds. On August 15th, she will be joining Andy Cohen on his popular show Watch What Happens Live on the Bravo network. The movie also stars Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, Mariah Carey and David Oyelowo. The Butler goes through three decades. It covers everything from the civil rights movement to Vietnam, and how it affected Allen and his family. Kudos to Daniels for an amazing movie! There is no doubt in my mind that Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey will be nominated for Oscars because the acting is that great!
